The Accolade Global Film Competition has given an Award of Merit to "Elephants in the Coffee" in its category for nature films. The competition gets thousands of entries each year and awards four levels of awards in each category. Top films are given awards of excellence, followed by awards of merit and awards of recognition. The winner in the nature, wildlife and environment category went to "Lemmings: The Little Giants of the North," by the Hungarian filmmaker Zoltan Török. An Award of Excellence went to "Antartica: Journey to the End of the Earth" by Andrii Andreiev of the Ukraine. "Elephants in the Coffee" won the Award of Merit and no other films were honored in that category. As you can see from the trailers, the other prizes went to films with amazing photography. I think that places "Elephants" in great company, a powerful tribute to our main photographers Duane Regehr and DK Bhaskar, as well as to the work of students such as Austin Morris.
